Trip Highlights

Tokyo
Welcome to Japan! We begin our pilgrimage with three nights in Tokyo. Here we will see the biggest tourist sites such as Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Crossing. From Tokyo we will continue to Akita where we will visit Our Lady of Akita and the Samurai District.

Kyoto
From Akita we will proceed to Kyoto, where we will enter more deeply into the history of the Catholic faith in Japan, along with its many martyrs. Here we will visit the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier, the Bamboo Alley, and the Nijo Castle. After two nights in Kyoto we will continue to Hiroshima.

Hiroshima
In Hiroshima, we will enter into the devastating history of the Atomic Bomb hitting the city on August 6, 1945. We will pray at the Assumption of Mary Cathedral, before touring the Peace Memorial Park, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and if time permits, we’ll conclude with the Hiroshima Castle.

Nagasaki
Our pilgrimage concludes with four nights in Nagasaki. We’ll visit the Museum and Monument of the 26 Martyrs of Nagasaki, enter into the life of St. Paul Miki and St. Lorenzo Ruiz, and pray at St. Maximillian Kolbe’s Hongochi Monstary, Oura Cathedral, and the Urakami Cathedral.
