What is a Pilgrimage & Why ProRome?
What is a Pilgrimage?
Whereas a tourist may go to Rome to say they were in the St. Peter’s Basilica, the pilgrim goes to Rome to pray in St. Peter’s Basilica. The difference is one of purpose. The pilgrim is essentially a time-traveler, looking to reclaim their Christian heritage and reinforce and reignite their faith in God.
What Makes ProRome Unique?
We are both an outbound and an inbound tour operator. This means that we promote tours here in the USA that will go abroad (outbound), and that we operate every aspect of the tour itself (inbound). We hand-select the flights, the buses, the hotels, the restaurants, the tour guides, the tour itineraries – everything is designed just for your group. We truly are custom tour builders.
What Our Pilgrims Have to Say
ProRome led us on a pilgrimage of Rome, Assisi, Florence, Siena, and Orvieto in October 2019! It was the most delightful and perfect adventure for our group of friends (25-30 people). What made this tour unique and truly one of a kind is that our guide Joe has an tremendous command of history, art, architecture, and faith. He was able to weave his knowledge into a story… the story of Italy. Our pilgrimage left us with memories to last a lifetime. Delicious food, gorgeous scenery, beautiful hotels in very central locations, amazing breakfasts, and a true in-depth, customized pilgrimage to significant holy and religious sites. Thank you ProRome! We can’t wait for our next adventure with you!
We have been to Europe nine times and this was by far the best trip we have taken. The trip had an excellent agenda and every place we stopped was exciting. The guides were full of knowledge and spoke excellent English. After 10 days we were not ready to come back home. We would love to tour with ProRome again.
